Why are proteins so important

Proteins, sometimes incorrectly referred to as egg whites, are one of the most important building blocks of the human body.
Around 20 per cent of the dry matter of each cell consists of proteins.
A distinction is made between animal and vegetable proteins, with vegetable proteins being even more important for the body than animal proteins. If you combine purely vegetable proteins with proteins from milk and dairy products, you get the optimum biological nutritional value.
