Radical diets do not work. Losing weight quickly in a short period of time causes the so-called yo-yo effect, i.e. the person concerned puts on even more weight after the diet.
You only need to follow a few rules in your diet to lose weight or stay slim.
This will keep you slim in the long term:
Three solid meals a day and no snacks in between. It's better to eat three times a day so that you feel full for a few hours until the next meal. Several small meals don't fill you up properly and tempt you to eat more. If you do get hungry between meals, you can eat fruit.
Eat your fill with fewer calories. Calories do not make the stomach feel full, only the quantity. So no fatty sauces, no cream etc. Instead, eat large portions of steamed vegetables or fresh salads without fatty dressings.
Organise your meals without starters and desserts. Keep track of what you want to eat. Save sumptuous feasts for the festive season.
Dishes with more protein keep you full for longer than those with lots of carbohydrates and fat. Fat provides the most calories, but makes you hungry again the quickest. An ideal meal is, for example, a lean piece of fish (no bigger than a pack of cards), a small portion of potatoes or durum wheat pasta (without egg) and a generous portion of steamed vegetables.
Remember: you don't just eat when you're hungry. You often eat more because it's there. In other words: out of sight, out of mind.
Stay away from liquid calories. Calorific drinks such as cola, lemonade, juice and alcohol do not fill you up, but provide your body with enormous amounts of calories. Drink tea or water instead, if necessary drink water and juice mixed half and half.
Last but not least, physical exercise is of course important. Leave the car behind and walk or take the bike.
