Interpreting babies' facial expressions and body language

crying baby, interpreting facial expressions
Although babies are relatively helpless beings at the beginning of their lives, dependent on the care and attention of those around them, they are not entirely destitute. Nature has given them various ways to make themselves understood before they can do so with language and purposeful expression.

Digital cameras, the right camera for everyone

Digital camera
Not all cameras are the same, as even the layman knows and goes out to buy the device that has the most functions and the highest technical values. They then realise that they were wrong when they can't operate the camera because everything seems too complicated and they can't do much with the manual because they have no idea about photography. As with many other devices, you need to be clear about the purpose for which you want to use the digital camera and how much you know about the technology or are willing to learn.

Make colourful soap yourself
We all know and use soap; there is plenty of it in the supermarket, in all kinds of designs and fragrances. But you can also make soap yourself relatively easily.

For this purpose, you can buy ready-made packs on the internet that contain all the building blocks. But you can also go one step further and obtain all the ingredients yourself, because soap primarily consists of only three different components that are freely available:

Newborn babies, the most common mistakes

Mother takes baby for a walk
The arrival of a baby is a wonderful event, but even in the first few days it can lead to doubts among the new parents, especially if it is their first child.

There are a few mistakes that are often made, usually during the first few weeks of life, when parents are still adjusting to the new arrival and have little experience in dealing with them.

Building savings contracts for home ownership

Home ownership with building society contract
"Schaffe, schaffe Häusle baue" is the motto for many people who, instead of paying rent, would rather own a flat or house and take out a building society contract to make this a reality.

If you have never dealt with the topic of building society savings before, you may not know how such a building society savings contract actually works.

This form of home purchase initially consists of the owner's contribution, the savings contributions and a state building subsidy.

To obtain such a building society loan, you open a building society account with a bank or building society through which the payments are made.

At the beginning of their lives, babies are heavily dependent on care and attention from their environment, as they are unable to move around on their own or satisfy their own needs.

Nevertheless, they are not clueless and have several ways of communicating with their environment and attracting the attention of those around them.

Halloween, where does the festival come from

Halloween Cat and Pumpkin
For some years now, Halloween has also been celebrated here in Germany. It usually involves children dressing up in scary costumes and then going out into the street to knock on houses in small groups, similar to carnival, to recite a spell and ask for a treat. If they don't get anything, they curse the house and its inhabitants, at least that's what the saying traditionally recited at the door says: "trick or treat?".

Today's custom was adopted in Germany from the USA, where it was spread through the medium of cinema and television. Although you see far fewer children actually wandering the streets in Germany, they usually limit themselves to appearing dressed up at parties, the festival is nevertheless becoming increasingly popular.

Interpreting allergies

allergic skin rash
An allergy is a defence of the immune system against substances that it perceives as threatening to the health of the individual. Unfortunately, however, these substances are not really dangerous pathogens, but rather harmless substances that do not threaten the existence of the organism.

The exaggerated reactions are controlled by the formation of antibodies that target the defence against these substances and develop various symptoms that people then experience as allergies, i.e. coughing, runny nose, red swollen eyes, sneezing, itching, rashes and breathing problems.

Dogs, which one is right for me?

different pedigree dogs
There are pedigree dogs and mixed breeds in all sizes, designs and with different characters and preferences. If you've always had a favourite dog, the choice can be easy, but even then you should have researched the type of dog carefully before you buy it, because perhaps a different breed would be more suited to your needs.
