Horses - What to do about chronic cough

Chronic coughing in horses is unfortunately very common in stalls. The reason is usually the so-called "mattress bedding", i.e. the new bedding is poured on top of the used bedding for two or three weeks without cleaning the box first. The ammonia gases breeding underneath become more intense day by day and not only result in hoof rot, but also damage the horse's respiratory tract.

The usual treatment usually consists of switching from straw to shavings, wetting the forage hay, and medicinal relief.

This does not cure the chronic cough at all. However, there is a way to cure the cough completely.

Emigrating to Spain - Culture Shock
When Germans decide to live in Spain, there are usually good reasons. For me, it was mainly the climate and the people. The uptightness in Germany got on my nerves.

I've been living in Toledo for four years now and I'm enjoying it wholeheartedly. However, there are cultural differences that I still struggle with sometimes, even after four. These are the top ten things you need to be prepared for if you want to live in Spain:

Travelling with children

Travelling with children can sometimes be stressful, no matter what age. While an infant may not be able to walk around yet, he needs a lot of care and does not yet understand what is happening around him.

As soon as the toddler starts walking, it becomes problematic to squeeze him into a seat for endless hours, whether in the car, train or plane. It can't hold back its natural urge to move and quickly becomes querulous.

Here are some practical tips on how to make travelling with our children easier for us and for them.

How to cure coffee addiction

Coffee is so much a part of our society that it's hard to avoid it. Wherever you visit, whether for business or pleasure, you are always offered coffee. Yet it is often the case that we only become coffee drinkers out of habit, but don't actually like coffee all that much.

But the result is the same: coffee, or caffeine, is addictive and not healthy for the body in the long run.

Here are a few suggestions on how to kick the coffee drinking habit.

Can you learn to get up early?

There seem to be two kinds of people: some are always out of bed before dawn, others can't get their butts out of bed for ages.

Even if it's nice to stay in bed for a really long time, if you make it out of bed sometime around noon, the whole day is usually tough and unproductive. Not only is it annoying in the long run not to get anything done, but in our society it is indispensable to get up at a reasonably early hour. Some people claim that all successful people are early risers. I dare to doubt that, because success is actually not measurable. It depends on what standards I have set myself and whether I personally consider myself successful or not. But the fact is that our daily work usually obliges us to get up earlier than we would like.

Some people just find it particularly difficult. Is there anything you can do about the fact that every morning is torture and your mood sinks to zero, or do you have to accept that you are not born an early riser?

Just started your own business? The 10 most common mistakes as a young entrepreneur

Be honest, I'm sure you've all made smart remarks about other people's businesses, like 'I would do the advertising this way' or 'that's stupid, no one will buy there with that logo'....

And what good are we at giving advice when acquaintances tell us about problems in their small or medium-sized businesses.

But when we take the step into self-employment at some point, we realise that we have no idea about any of this, because reality is different from our fantasy-spun ideal world.

And so it happens that we, as newcomers to business, all make the same mistakes over and over again.

I would like to give you a little help from experience, so that you may already be a few steps ahead when you start.
