Strengthen the baby's immune system

Strengthen the immune system, sick child
The immune system develops naturally on its own and this begins in the womb, where it is supplied with antibodies that can protect it from various pathogens after birth.

This is necessary in order to be able to cope with the flood of viruses and bacteria with which it is confronted at birth.

Tantrums in children

Girl cries, tantrum
Every child will go through phases in which tantrums occur more or less frequently. Some children start throwing tantrums as early as one year old, but they usually only start at around two years old. They are a sign that the child is becoming more independent and wants to be in control. This is precisely why you should try to see them as an opportunity to teach the child something, namely to grow not only externally but also internally.

A day out and about with the baby

Mother and child travelling in a car
To spend a pleasant day out and about with your baby, you should be well prepared, especially if your plans include the use of different transport options.

An infant car seat is recommended in the first few months of your child's life, while the more practical pushchair is only recommended from the age of around 6 months. This should then be able to be folded backwards so that the baby can still be placed in a lying position when it falls asleep. If it is not yet able to sit up on its own, this is necessary anyway, as you should not sit the baby upright for long.

Weaning off the dummy

Soother for baby
Soother weaning should take place before the child starts kindergarten.

Ideally, weaning should take place before the end of the second year of life and the dummy should be replaced with a toy that the child can also suck. This helps him to forget the dummy and prevents him from using his fingers instead. The child will be satisfied if he is offered an alternative. The purpose of this is to find a form of satisfaction that is less harmful.

Testing children's knowledge

Child learns to handle a dog
Sometimes it is important to know what your child has already learnt so that you can let them go a step further with confidence and allow them a little more independence. This is possible even if you still have certain fears that make you doubt your offspring's abilities. The key here is to find ways of overcoming your own fears.

What helps children in their development is the trust that parents can place in their abilities, so they must learn to let go when the time comes.

Swaddling babies properly

Baby wrapped in pucksack
Swaddling is a tried and tested way of giving babies back some of the cosiness and warmth they miss from their mother's womb. Swaddling is particularly useful for soothing cry babies, but it is also suitable for all other babies.

The advantages of the puck are that the baby is given space but does not feel lost, as it also feels a sense of limitation, just like in the womb.

Sick child in bed
In the first few months of a newborn's life, there are still many dangers from viruses and bacteria lurking for the new arrival, as their immune system has to slowly get used to our environment. Speech development for babies and first attempts at speaking

Mother talks to child, learning to speak
When your baby starts to talk, this is one of the most exciting new things you will experience. You eagerly await the first recognisable words, such as "mummy" and "daddy", which do not always immediately identify the person, but nevertheless make parents proud.

Your child's language development will continue to progress steadily from now on and you can do a lot to stimulate it yourself.
