To spend a pleasant day out and about with your baby, you should be well prepared, especially if your plans include the use of different transport options.
An infant car seat is recommended in the first few months of your child's life, while the more practical pushchair is only recommended from the age of around 6 months. This should then be able to be folded backwards so that the baby can still be placed in a lying position when it falls asleep. If it is not yet able to sit up on its own, this is necessary anyway, as you should not sit the baby upright for long.
The infant car seat should always be adapted to the respective age, i.e. with increasing age it is better to choose a seat of the next higher group than one that has been approved for all age groups. Tests have confirmed that seats for all age groups are not nearly as safe as those for the individual age groups, i.e. group 0 for babies weighing 0-13kg, group 1 for babies weighing 13-22kg, etc.
Carrycots are very popular and can be very helpful, especially during shorter trips with your baby. They allow your baby to sleep close to mummy or daddy and feel their body heat.
When choosing a bag, pay particular attention to whether it retains its shape when the baby is sitting in it. Some models do not have a firm support in the back/neck area, these usually do not give the baby enough support and it is necessary to counteract this with one hand, especially to support the head, which the baby usually cannot hold on its own in the first three months. This means that you lose the great advantage that these bags should actually bring, namely that you keep both hands free.
The baby bag for travelling, which was created especially for this purpose, is a good thing because it contains a changing mat, space for bottles, wet wipes and everything else you might need when you're out and about. The only problem is that they are usually very expensive. That's why you can also use a normal bag with several compartments; if the following items fit inside, it's sufficient:
Changing mat
Nappies
Wet wipes
Cream for the bum
Plastic bags for used nappies
A complete interchangeable set
Bottle or water bottle/tea bottle, depending on whether you are breastfeeding or not
For older babies food containers and spoons
Possibly a small towel for the little wet tummies
