Temporomandibular joint syndrome

Temporomandibular joint disease or temporomandibular joint syndrome can have a variety of different causes. For example, there may be a blow to the jaw, a bite anomaly or malocclusion, in which the teeth of the upper and lower jaw do not fit together correctly. Extreme pressure on the jaw due to constant teeth grinding or teeth clenching as well as incorrect eating and eating behaviour can also lead to TMJ disorder.

Why is the human body temperature 37 degrees

Body temperature

Scientists have found the reason why the human body maintains a constant body temperature of 37 degrees Celsius. 37 degrees corresponds to the optimal balance: the body is warm enough to prevent infections, but cool enough that the metabolism does not have to work at full speed. If the body were too hot, we would have to eat continuously to maintain our metabolism.
