Mother's Day

What does Mother's Day mean

Mother's Day

Even in these commercialised, fast-paced times, Mother's Day is meant to honour a mother's love and effort and give her a special day of appreciation. It's not about finding the most beautiful and expensive gift.

Many mothers even reject Mother's Day themselves, because they feel that the children should honour her all year round. But think of Mother's Day like a birthday. With the birth of the first child, a mother was born. So on Mother's Day, it's a good idea to remember motherhood and pay special attention to it in honour of your own mother.

A birthday is not always celebrated in a big way, but in most cases it is at least recognised with small gestures and gifts. Just like the mother, the birthday child can feel especially appreciated and the centre of attention for a day.

Mother's Day does not have to be commercial. No mother wants expensive gifts, just attention and thanks for her devotion. It is certainly just as good for a mother if you bring her breakfast in bed on Mother's Day, invite her on an outing or simply take over her household chores for the whole day. In this way, the mother feels that her devotion is not always taken for granted.

A mother never has a day off because she is always a mother and her efforts are not only unpaid, but priceless. Even the opponents of Mother's Day have to admit that she deserves praise and gratitude at least once a year for one day. Those who don't want to honour Mother's Day should show gratitude in other ways throughout the year, because where would we all be without our mother's love?
