How to protect your eyes and vision

Easy on the eyesThe eye is an organ that we put a lot of strain on, but which is sometimes even underchallenged due to one-sided use. Spatial vision, the quick adjustment of the pupil to three-dimensional objects, can atrophy or not even be developed properly if it is not practised from the beginning.

As with all muscles, the visual muscle needs to be trained in order to perform at full capacity. If this is not the case, or if it is used too one-sidedly, this leads on the one hand to less performance and even to the inability to perform certain functions successfully. On the other hand, more extensive problems can occur, such as headaches and migraines.

For some, the symbolic epitome of pregnancy, about which countless jokes have been made, especially about the men who go to great lengths to satisfy the cravings of their pregnant partners, even going out in the middle of the night in search of the desired one. Almost every pregnant woman will be able to confirm that she has been asked about her cravings during the course of her pregnancy.

For others, this is a mere exaggeration, or even a questionable phenomenon, because they have never experienced any cravings during their entire pregnancy, or that of a partner or acquaintance, or have been plagued by nausea that basically masked any feeling of hunger.

Is it a myth or do cravings for certain foods during pregnancy really exist?

Stress has always existed, because stress is a bodily function that was designed by nature to enable us to prove ourselves in dangerous situations. For example, the occurrence of stress in prehistoric times meant that the body was able to react much more quickly than in a resting state by increasing blood pressure and heart rate and improving blood flow to the muscles. Prehistoric man was therefore able to flee quickly from danger or fight, depending on what the situation demanded.

In most areas, the quality of drinking water is acceptable for consumption by adults and children. However, one quickly wonders whether this is also the case for infants.

Although the very youngest babies usually only receive milk in the first few months, if this does not come from the mother herself, drinking water must be used to prepare the bottle feed.

Mobile phonesAs is so often the case, the fashionable language of English has left its mark on German usage and coined the term that the majority of people use to refer to "mobile phones" in a nutshell. Strange really, because in English they are called mobile or cell phones, so the word "hand" does not appear in them at all. Nevertheless, mobile phone is a nice term for a much-loved invention.

But positive is not all there is to these little gizmos. Ever since they became widely available on the market, there has been controversy surrounding mobile phones.

 

The more mobile phones were sold, the more antennas were erected and the more people started to complain about the effects of the antennas.
