The game is for 2 to 4 players and is played with the cards 7 to Ace. Each player receives 5 cards, the rest are placed on the pile. The top card of the deck is dealt face up. The dealer takes a card from the deck and places a card from his hand face up next to the card on the table. The card values of the two face-up cards are added together.

 

Card values: AS = 1; King = 4; Queen = 3; Jack = 2, Ten = -1; Nine = 0; Eight = 8; Seven = 1.

 

For example, if there is a king on the table and the player places an ace on it, he says "5".

In turn, each player takes a card from the pile and adds another to the face-up pile. When a 10 is discarded, one point is deducted instead of being added. The loser is the player whose discarded card reaches or exceeds the total value of 51. You have to manage your discarding early on so that you don't get into the 51 danger zone.
