When small children play closely together, head lice can be transmitted. Head lice can be dealt with naturally and lice infestations can be prevented naturally.

 

Hairbrushes and combs

Each family member should always use their own combs and brushes. If one child is infested with head lice, they are not immediately transferred to the rest of the family. Children should also learn not to use other children's combs and brushes at nursery or school.

 

Clothes

The child should also learn never to put on their friends' jackets, jumpers or hats. If another child puts on their clothes, the child should not put them on themselves, but bring them home to be washed.

 

Playground

A sandpit can transmit head lice. An infested child sticks its head in the sand and some lice can remain there. Head lice can survive in the environment for up to 24 hours and can thus settle on another child if they come into contact with the sand.

 

Shampoo

THE right hair shampoo prevents head lice. Shampoo with coconut oil and olive oil contains fatty acids that destroy head lice.

Shampoos with tea tree oil, peppermint or eucalyptus oil, rosemary oil and lavender oil keep head lice away as they do not like the odour. In addition, shampoos with tea tree oil heal the small bite wounds on the scalp after a lice infestation and relieve itching.
