Almost all table manners for children are geared towards making them grow big and strong. This dates back to times when food was not so abundant and it was indeed important for the healthy development of the body to follow certain rules in eating behaviour. In times when there is more than enough food, we need to change the old rules to protect our children from obesity.

The step from teasing to bullying, at what point does teasing go too far?

Teasing each other can be a lot of fun and even socially positive as long as both sides find it funny. All too often, the teaser does not realise that he has gone too far and his counterpart feels offended or the teasing has even turned into bullying. The step from teasing to bullying is very small and is often crossed unnoticed in the heat of the moment.

Generational conflict between grandparents, parents and grandchildren

 

It is beneficial for all three generations if the grandparents spend a lot of time with the grandchildren. Children and grandparents share a special bond and the children's parents have a little time for themselves. It is not always easy to bridge the generation gap and make the most of the time together, because communication between the youngest and the oldest has its pitfalls.
