New Age refers to the spiritual and religiously orientated trend in the 60s and 70s. New Age followers turned to meditation and Eastern religions and turned their backs on the materialism of the post-war period.
New Age also stands for closeness to nature, environmental awareness, spirituality, equality and inner values.
Environmental protection as we know it today was born in the New Age era. Awareness of the environment in which we live and tolerance towards other people and lifestyles was strongly promoted.
The followers of this movement followed alternative healing methods and therapies, rejected conventional medicine and turned to naturopathy.
