Anyone who has a pet knows how difficult it can be to find a flat. Many landlords do not allow pets, especially dogs and cats. So how can you improve your chances of finding a flat if you have a pet?

2. you have better chances in flats that are offered privately in detached houses than in larger tower blocks. These are usually advertised by the landlord himself, who makes his own decision and gets his own impression of the prospective tenant. Tower blocks are often let by managers who have no authority. A landlord is more likely to refuse a pet if he remains anonymous, so it is better to get personal contact. If applying online, send photos of yourself and the pet.

Noise: Bring your pet with you to the viewing and demonstrate that it is well behaved. If the landlord sees that the pet is quiet, he will have fewer concerns. Get recommendations from your previous landlords if possible.

Odour: Offer a contractual obligation to have the odour in the flat neutralised when you move out.
