Creativity

Everyone feels listless, sluggish and unable to be creative from time to time. You can give your creative side a boost with a few tips.

For creativity, a "cross-talk", a communication between both hemispheres of the brain is important, if not necessary. You can do an eye exercise to stimulate communication between the two hemispheres of the brain. Move your eyes horizontally back and forth for 30 seconds.

Half an hour of physical activity stimulates creativity for several hours.

Daily routine can become dull. To encourage your creative side, simply consciously deviate from your daily routine, even if only in small ways: take a different route to work, read a book instead of the newspaper or watch a different TV programme than usual in the evening.

For one day, look at your world through the eyes of a tourist visiting your city for the first time. Pick out the places you would visit as a stranger.

Be a child for a few hours or even just a few minutes and enjoy childlike activities: swinging in the playground or painting with finger paints.

Dedicate more time to yourself and your appearance. Make sure you get more sleep, do a face mask or indulge in your favourite activity.

Write a diary every evening before going to bed. Don't write novels in it, but the highlight of the day. This way you can flick through the diary later and see how the highlights of your day change.

Take a quiet time each day to read, meditate or relax in some other way. Relaxation is the best way to refresh the mind.

Make a conscious effort to engage with a topic that you know nothing about and that may be of little interest to you. This will stimulate your thinking and you may even develop a new interest.
