Vacuum regularly, especially in small crevices and carpet. The dust bag or dust container should be emptied or disposed of immediately after use.

Wash all surfaces frequently with citrus cleaner or eucalyptus.

Store food in well-sealed containers.

Put items infested with silverfish in the freezer for a few days to destroy the eggs.

Homemade repellents against silverfish

Typical natural remedies that repel silverfish are bay leaves, eucalyptus, epsom salt, cloves, cinnamon and cucumber peel. You can spread these around the home, wherever silverfish may be. You can also make traps by putting these products in small sachets and sticking them in the cracks.
