An important essential oil is extracted from eucalyptus trees, which has many benefits for health and cosmetics. But the fragrant natural oil is also effective against ant plagues, because it is a natural insect repellent.

 

The oil is contained in fresh eucalyptus leaves, so the fresh leaves can also be used against ants as long as they are kept moist. Eucalyptus oil can also be bought in vials in health food stores. The oil alone kills mites, but must be mixed with dishwashing liquid to kill the ants. To do this, mix a few drops of eucalyptus oil with a few drops of dishwashing liquid and put it in a spray bottle, which is then filled with water. The washing-up liquid penetrates the ant's body and kills it. The eucalyptus oil scares away ants and other insects so that no new ants come.

 

The mixture of oil and dishwashing liquid not only kills ants, but also caterpillars, beetles and butterflies and should therefore only be used sparingly outdoors. It is better to lay out the pure eucalyptus oil outside to keep the ants away.
