Pathogens that cause fungal infections are everywhere and infection cannot always be avoided. How do you treat fungal infections and how can you prevent them?

Athlete's foot

Athlete's foot manifests itself as itchy blisters between the toes. It is usually contracted in swimming pools or communal showers. To prevent this, it is best to wear slippers in these areas, wash your feet regularly and always wear fresh socks. After bathing or showering, dry thoroughly between the toes and apply cream. Before going to the swimming pool, you can rub a waterproof antifungal agent (e.g. Canasten cream) onto your feet.

To treat athlete's foot after an infection, you can obtain over-the-counter antifungals from the pharmacy for self-treatment.

 

Nail fungus

A nail fungus manifests itself as yellowish discoloured and brittle nails. A special anti-fungal nail polish (Ciclopi) is available for treatment, which penetrates deep into the nail and heals it from the inside. Complete healing can take up to a year.

 

Vaginal fungus (vaginal fungus)

It is characterised by itching in the woman's genital area and increased discharge. To prevent this, wash your intimate area regularly without using soap. Always wear fresh cotton underwear for optimum ventilation. moisture is wicked away. Wash the underwear at a minimum of 60 degrees.

Anti-fungal agents are available for treatment, which combat the fungus within a few days.
