Dreiblatt is a game for 2 to 5 players and is played with 32 cards. Each player is dealt 3 cards and pays a stake, which must be divisible by 3.

The top card of the deck is turned over and determines the trump colour.

Each player looks at his cards and decides whether to fold or continue playing. If they continue to play, they can swap cards from the pile. After swapping, a card is played. The respective colour (clubs, diamonds, hearts, spades) must be followed. If you cannot follow suit, you must trump. If you cannot trump either, you must discard any card.

A player receives a third of the pot for each trick taken. Each player who has not taken a trick pays three units into the pot.
