Summer water games for small children

Water games for children
Water games are refreshing on hot days and a lot of fun for parents and children. A water play party is a great idea to celebrate a children's birthday party in summer, where big and small people can cool off. Here are some water games that are suitable for young children.

Sprinkler games
If you have a sprinkler, you can organise a tug-of-war under the spraying water. Divide the group of children into two teams and place them at the ends of the rope. The sprinkler should be in the centre of the dew. The children now try to pull the other group closer to the sprinkler so that the losing team gets wet.

Using sprinklers or a normal garden hose, you can let the children dance limbo to music under the water jet. Like the limbo pole, the water jet is lowered a little with each round to increase the difficulty.

Rub a thick layer of sun cream on the children's hands and give them a wet beach ball. The beach ball is now thrown back and forth over the sprinkler. The game is not only more difficult with slippery hands, but also helps to develop ball coordination.

Coloured soap bubbles
To make the coloured soap bubbles, dissolve a cup of soap granules in half a litre of warm water. Stir in food colouring of your choice. Blow the coloured bubbles and let the children run after them to burst them. The children can also blow their own bubbles if they are old enough. Food colouring can stain surfaces and clothing, so it's best to only play outdoors and let the children wear old T-shirts.

Water relay
To do this, fill two buckets with water and place them about two metres apart. Place two empty buckets opposite each other a few metres apart. There is an empty bucket opposite each full bucket, the distance depends on the age of the children, as they have to run back and forth between the buckets. Form two teams and line each team up behind a full bucket. The first child gets a plastic cup. Now the first two children fill their cup from the bucket and take the water over to the second bucket as quickly as possible, but without spilling any water. The children run back with the empty cups and hand them to the next child in line. The team that fills the bucket first is the winner.
