A 10-year-old girl is no longer a small child, but still needs a different kind of birthday party than a teenager. At the age of 10, the girl has reached a special age, namely a transitional phase between childhood and adulthood. This can make planning the birthday presents and the birthday party difficult.

 

The 10-year-old girl has most likely outgrown the doll age, but is not yet mature enough for the interests of a teenager. The birthday party should reflect the girl's personal interests and character.

 

Styling hair

The party guests can play hairdresser in the form of a competition. Two small tables serve as a mini hairdressing salon. One table holds all the necessary hair styling utensils such as combs, brushes, hairspray and hair clips. The other table holds accessories such as hair bands, bows, glitter and headdresses. The aim of the competition is to give each other imaginative hairstyles. Each guest receives a hair bow as a prize. The results of the styling should be photographed and printed out later as a souvenir.

 

Beauty shop and manicure

Have child-friendly manicure utensils ready for this activity, as well as nail polish in different colours. The girls can manicure and decorate each other to their heart's content. As a souvenir, the children can choose an (inexpensive) ring to take home with them.

 

Pyjama party

At 10 years old, girls are just the right age for a pyjama party. The girls can retreat to the hostess's room where they can whisper to each other undisturbed, dance to music or watch their favourite films. At the age of 10, the girls long for independence and privacy. They should be provided with sufficient snacks, e.g. a largeße bowl of popcorn and fruit punch, plus a chocolate bar.

 

Party snacks

In addition to the birthday cake, pizza slices can be served, which the girls can place on colourful party plates themselves. Garlic bread or chicken nuggets with ketchup go well with this.
