Some babies and small children react sensitively to the movement of the car on long journeys. But they are still too young to take preventative medication against travel sickness. How do you prevent travel sickness in babies?

 

Simply place a wide elastic band on both of the child's wrists. The elastic band should be placed three baby-finger widths from the lower edge of the hand. It must not be too tight that the blood circulation is restricted, but it must be tight enough to be effective. Ideally, two fingers should fit between the elastic and the wrist. The rubber presses on the pressure point of the wrist, which regulates and restricts the sensitivity to travelling.

There are also special bracelets available for this purpose that have a magnetic pressure point. These can be bought in pharmacies or drugstores. They are effective against travel sickness in vehicles, aeroplanes and ships for both children and adults.

The Bioband, an acupressure band that can be adjusted to any wrist size with a Velcro fastener, has proven to be particularly effective and comfortable in many cases. Only one band is required, which is exchanged between the wrists for optimum effect.
