Raising a child with environmentally friendly and natural things is easier than you think. Children who grow up environmentally conscious will act just as responsibly as adults. You don't have to turn into a radical eco-freak to do this.
It's so easy for you as a mother to raise your child naturally and in an environmentally friendly way:
The children's room. Baby cot, wardrobe and shelves made of pine wood, curtains and carpets made of natural fibres, paints without toxins and recycled wallpaper. A child who sleeps and plays in such a natural room will learn to recognise environmental protection as something completely normal.
Clothes. Clothing made from natural fibres such as cotton, wool, silk, linen etc. is not only more environmentally friendly, but also better for sensitive baby skin than synthetic fibres. The material should be organically grown and not manufactured using chemicals. Babies'R'Us have a collection of ecological baby clothes.
Food. There is nothing more natural for a newborn baby than breast milk. After the first 6 months, foods such as milk powder, biscuits and organic paps as well as glass bottles.
Nappies. A baby will use around six thousand nappies in its lifetime, and it takes around 500 years for these nappies to break down. This is why many mothers opt for cloth nappies, even if they are less practical. Wash cloth nappies with a little detergent and soak them in a bucket after use, using as little water as possible.
Toys. Toys made of wood with natural colours, rag dolls and other natural toys that are not made of plastic.
