
Recipes for making your own finger paint, make-up, soap bubbles, modelling clay and more, inexpensive and child-safe.
Finger paint
Wash 300 ml of laundry starch powder with cold water until a paste is formed. Slowly add 800 ml boiling water, stirring all the time. Boil until the liquid runs clear. Leave to cool until lukewarm and stir in 300 ml soap flakes. Add 2 tablespoons of glycerine. Divide into small portions and stir in various food colours. Store the unused remainder in the fridge.
Soap bubbles
Thoroughly mix 1 litre of water, 12 teaspoons of glycerine and 8 teaspoons of liquid green soap.
Leave to rest for 24 hours.
Filling compound
Mix the all-purpose glue and liquid laundry starch together in a 2:1 ratio. Cover and place in the fridge overnight.
The mass can be cut with scissors or stretched and twisted.
Plasticine
Mix together 320 g flour, 200 ml water, 120 g salt and food colouring.
Store in the refrigerator.
Monster Makeup
Mix together 1 teaspoon of fuller's earth, 1 teaspoon of natural yoghurt, 1 teaspoon of water and a few drops of food colouring. Apply carefully to the face, avoiding the mouth, nose and eye area. You can use lipstick and eye shadow there.
The make-up can be washed off with water.
