Making colourful snails

Ideal for a children's birthday party, as each child gets to take their masterpiece home with them at the end. To make the colourful snails, you will need a few empty snail shells (at least one per child), modelling clay, a cardboard base and watercolours.

The snail shells are coloured as desired with watercolour. While they are drying, the children mould the snail bodies from the modelling clay, including the eyes and heads. The plasticine snails are placed on a piece of cardboard cut to size.

Finally, the snail shells are placed on the snail bodies.

You can also hold a competition afterwards to see who has made the most beautiful snail!
