Oily, large-pored skin can and should be cleansed twice a day. It is best to cleanse the pores with a special cleansing gel for blemished skin, which refines the pores.
Regular washing of the facial skin prevents excess sebum from building up in the pores and causing blackheads. A disinfectant toner has an anti-inflammatory effect and pre-cleanses the skin.
Blemished skin can be treated daily with a mild facial scrub. Scrubs with coarse abrasive particles such as sand, almond bran or salt are good for skin with large pores. However, pimples and blackheads can easily break open and become inflamed. It is therefore better to use cleansing scrubs with fruit acid, which loosen old skin cells but treat the skin gently.
Sebum production is stimulated in warm temperatures and strong sunlight. The pores tighten and therefore clog more easily, creating a breeding ground for blackheads. A light moisturiser with UV protection is therefore important for blemished skin. Lightly tinted day cream makes the complexion look natural and fresh.
