A horse normally lives between 25 and 30 years. "Old Billy" was 62! Billy was born in the English village of Woolston in 1760 and was a Cob Shire. There are few records of Billy the horse, but when he died on 27 November 1822, he appeared in the newspaper as the oldest horse in the world and went down in the annals of Manchester.
