To take a screenshot in the Mac OS operating system, simply press the Apple key + Shift key + 3 at the same time, or hold down the Apple key and Shift key and then press the number 3.

 

 

The screenshot appears on the desktop (My Computer) and is already saved. To edit the screenshot, double-click the saved file on the desktop. Mac OS will then open a preview in which you can edit the screenshot.
