The best way to get a screenshot in Windows 7 is not to use the Print key.

It is possible to take a screenshot using the print button, but the result is not yet saved and still needs to be edited.

Windows 7 has a screenshot tool that is quick and easy to use. It is called "Snipping Tool" and can be found under Start>All Programs>Accessories in Windows 7.

Start the program, the screen will turn grey. Drag a box around the area you want to capture. An editing window appears in which you can save the screenshot directly. The screenshot can also be commented on and edited and the changes can be deleted later without changing the actual screenshot.

If you want to save not just a specific area, but the entire screen image, you can select the corresponding option.
