Why it is good to be an introvert

There is often a misconception that being introverted and shy is a bad thing that you have to fight against. It is in the nature of things that extroverts spread this belief. The reserved introverts are therefore far too often misunderstood and wrongly criticised. Being an introvert and having a quiet, reserved character has many advantages, without which our society would collapse.

These are the most important good qualities that an introvert possesses in contrast to an extrovert:

- Introverted, introverted people work well with others, both in a team and in a partnership.

- Shy and introverted people are more reliable and maintain their friendships.

- Introverts have deep friendships, extroverts tend to have superficial acquaintances. (Exceptions prove the rule).

- Introverts are used to being alone, so they are very independent.

- They have a strong ability to concentrate.

- The introvert's personality tends towards (often exaggerated) self-criticism, which in turn gives them the ability to work on themselves.

- Introverts have a strong sense of responsibility.

- They are creative and can think "outside the box". This gives them the opportunity to solve problems in unconventional ways where others cannot find a solution.

- They are hard-working and eager to learn.

- Introverts have excellent analytical skills.

- They tend to be more flexible in their thoughts and actions than their extroverted fellow human beings.

- Introverts are better able to empathise with other people, are more understanding and can even be more tolerant.

- They are good listeners.

So the following applies to all introverts: stay as you are, you shouldn't try to pretend because others want to make you believe that everyone has to "come out of their shell". The important thing is to find your strengths and play to them.
