Optimism and positive attitude

Every thinking being has the possibility to make the best of the given circumstances. One can focus on the positive or the negative, see the good or block it out, and accept or drown in the blows of fate.

Good happens to everyone, it manifests itself in small incidents that delight us consciously or unconsciously. It is in the willingness to recognise the good that the optimist differs from the pessimist. In the life of every human being there are good and not so good phases that constantly alternate. But the personal attitude towards life determines the influence of the respective phase on our thinking and feeling. The more positive the attitude, the more you recognise positive things around you, so your attitude towards life creates the framework in which your life takes place. A negative phase is often made worse by the negative thinker by talking up the crisis.

Every person experiences situations in which they believe everything has turned against them. But even when you feel there is no improvement in sight, you can consciously focus on positive or less negative things. The more positive things one invokes in one's mind, the more the positive thinking mechanism kicks in and is better able to deal with problems.

Pessimism and negative thinking are not innate. It is up to each person to change their own attitude. With a few small steps, everyone can teach themselves to think positively:

- Start each day with a positive thought.

- Consciously recall positive things throughout the day.

- As soon as negative thoughts creep in, you can stop them by thinking about personal successes and positive events.

- One can learn to find something good even in negative situations and focus on it. Often the occurrence of bad news or failure is an opportunity to change one's own behaviour.

- Unpleasant things should remain in the past and be considered closed.

- In order to keep positive things visually in mind, you can record small pleasant events in writing at the end of the day and embellish them with pretty sketches. The positive events experienced can be small things like the colour of a pretty flower, a smile or a task accomplished.

Positive attitude to life and optimism include hope, the hope for good things. Hope and optimism give joy of life and the necessary support in life even in unpleasant situations. Optimism dispels worries and fears. It often helps to look at seemingly acute situations with humour. In most negative situations, a certain humour can be discovered that helps to overcome them. An inner smile makes the negative aspects of the moment seem insignificant and one feels liberated. Humour creates distance to cope with a negative situation and relieves tension.
