You can easily make your own lemonade and it tastes much better fresh than store-bought. How to make your own lemonade:
Ingredients for lemonade
-
up to 10 lemons
-
300g sugar or substitute sugar
-
Water
Preparation
Before squeezing, roll the lemons back and forth on the worktop a few times and squeeze them. This softens the flesh and makes them easier to squeeze.
Squeeze the lemons. The pulp can be added to the juice or not, depending on your taste. If you want the lemonade to be completely pulp-free, you can sieve the juice.
Bring 200ml of water to the boil in a pan and add the sugar.
Simmer until the sugar has completely dissolved.
Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the freshly squeezed lemon juice.
Chill the resulting lemon syrup in the fridge.
Mix the cooled syrup with approx. one litre of water, adjusting the desired concentration from time to time.
Add more water or sugar if necessary.
Serve the lemonade cold.
If you don't want to make so much lemonade at once, you can keep the syrup in the fridge and stir about a tablespoon of syrup into a glass of lemonade water as required.
Use still or sparkling water to taste.
TipThe lemonade can also be made with oranges, grapefruit or watermelon instead of lemons.
