Eggs are always needed, but what a pity about the egg shells that can be used so well elsewhere.
Eggshells are good to put in the compost because they are very rich in calcium. Calcium is good for plants. Before you throw the shells into the compost, you should chop them up a little so that they can decompose better.
Empty eggshell halves are good for plant seeds. Fill each half with some potting soil and press the seed into it. The seeds draw minerals from the eggshells, which they need to grow. As soon as the little plants have grown to about 7 cm, they can be planted in a flower pot or in the garden. You can transplant the eggshell completely with the plant, as the shell will decompose over time, but will hold the roots together nicely during transplanting.
