Walls painted with wall paint give a room life and colour. However, it can be annoying when children's sticky hands or dirty dog snouts leave stains on freshly painted walls. Fresh stains are best removed as quickly as possible to prevent them from sticking to the paint. With a few simple steps, dirt stains or fingerprints can be washed off the wall paint to make the wall look nice and clean again.

1. clear the wall area in question. Move furniture, mirrors and murals out of the way. Remove cobwebs with a broom or brush or simply vacuum with a hoover. 

2 Cover the floor with plastic sheeting or newspaper to protect it from washing water stains. 

3. prepare the wash water. Fill two clean buckets about two-thirds full with water and add the appropriate amount of detergent to one. The second bucket contains only clean water. It is best to use floor cleaner or simple washing-up liquid to remove greasy stains from the wall. Mix the cleaning agent well with the water before use. 

4 Systematically wash the wall that is to be washed. To do this, dip a sponge into the cleaning water and squeeze out the sponge. Wash the wall from top to bottom with the sponge, rinsing the sponge frequently in the bucket so that it remains clean and the dirt is not spread over the wall. 

5. dip the sponge into the second bucket with the still clean solution and wash the wall well a second time to wash the cleaning agent off the wall. Use a fresh sponge for the second rinse. 

6 Wipe the wall dry with an absorbent cloth to prevent streaking. 

7. allow the wall to air dry, preferably with the windows open or with a fan. When the wall is completely dry, the furniture and pictures can be put back in place. Do not put things back if the wall is still damp to prevent mould from forming.
