Tip 1: The three sources of light. The eye is attracted to light. Dark corners in a room are not seen as space by the eye. Brightly lit rooms appear more spacious than dark rooms. So, in addition to bright paint, it is important for the optical effect to have a bright ceiling lamp and two table or wall lamps that illuminate every corner in the room.

 

Tip 2: Little furniture. Remove unnecessary furniture from the room. More freedom of movement in the flat feels bigger than crowded rooms.

 

Tip 3Pictures. Hang a large picture at a height of about 1.70m in the middle of a wall. This corresponds to the average eye height, which visually opens up the space above the picture and makes the room look higher. However, it is important to hang few and larger pictures, with plenty of space in between, otherwise the wall will quickly look cluttered.
