No colour brightens up a room like yellow. Yellow is one of the primary colours and therefore harmonises with almost all other colours. Although white reflects more incoming light, it looks sterile and boring on its own. A combination of white and yellow tones is good. However, yellow must be well balanced, as too much can be overwhelming. The trick is to balance the intensity of the chosen colour tone with the amount used.
A light lemon yellow brings a lot of light into the room, but can be too cold on its own. It is therefore a good idea to combine it with warm buttery yellow tones. A white ceiling and white window and door surrounds set accents and brighten up the room. A slightly yellowish white is more favourable here, as bright, bluish white can appear grey next to the yellow.
To find the right shades of yellow, you should test paint different shades on the walls to check the appearance colour throughout the day. More than any other colour, the colour yellow changes and intensifies depending on the incidence of light and the time of day.

To create contrasts in the room, the furniture should not be too light, but should preferably be a rich, dark wood colour. The contrast between furniture and walls is important for the overall impression of the room. A rather dark room should not be cluttered, but should only contain the essential pieces of furniture.

Although yellow is a high-energy colour, it can still be used in the bedroom. To do this, you should combine four or five different muted shades of yellow to achieve a calming effect. Ivory and beige tones together with a sunny yellow are particularly recommended. If you use three or fewer different shades of yellow, the effect can be rather incongruous, so you should choose at least four shades of yellow.

Yellow window curtains or blinds fill the room with sunshine even on gloomy days. Yellow is particularly effective on windows that are not exposed to direct sunlight.

As a general rule, the brighter and more intense the shade of yellow, the more sparingly it should be used. Bright yellow stimulates the senses and works better in smaller quantities. It is sufficient to decorate the room with light yellow sofa cushions and keep the rest of the room in warm shades of yellow and yellow-white. The best colours are
