The best way to wash a stain out of the fabric is to apply the stain remover or solvent evenly to the stained area. It is also gentler on the fabric if it is not unnecessarily exposed to chemicals by pouring bleach or solvent unevenly on areas that are clean.
You can easily apply the stain remover with an ordinary paintbrush. A small bristle brush applies the liquid only to the stain so that it can work in well. Bleach or liquid detergent can also be applied more evenly to a shirt collar so that it becomes nice and clean when washed.
