Leather dries out over time and becomes cracked. You can make old leather items such as saddles, gloves, leather lamps or leather aprons supple and shiny again.
Use a soft, lint-free cloth to massage olive oil into the dry leather. Work the oil thoroughly into the leather. The oily cloth also removes dust and dirt from the leather.
Leave the oil to work into the leather for about half an hour.
Then wipe off any excess oil that has not been absorbed with a tissue (Kleenex).
Every few weeks, when the leather looks dry again, you can repeat the process.
