A different decorating idea for the music lover: decorate the walls with sheet music instead of ordinary wallpaper. Old music books can be utilised in a meaningful and creative way.

 

Decorating bare walls with sheet music is inexpensive and gives a music fan the pleasure of being surrounded by music as they enter the room. All you need is a pile of sheet music in good condition, wallpaper glue, sharp scissors, a carpet knife, a wallpaper roller and a wide hairbrush.

First prepare the sheet music. Cut the sheet music taken from a music book with a carpet knife so that the corners of the paper are smooth. Place the sheets face down on a table. Line the table with old newspapers to prevent glue stains. Mix the wallpaper glue according to the instructions on the pack and apply to the wall with a brush. Only apply glue to a small area of the wall at a time, as the glue dries out quickly. Stick the sheet music to the wall in the desired order and press down with the wallpaper roller.

The corners of the individual music sheets should overlap by a few millimetres. After gluing the music sheets in place, apply a thin layer of wallpaper glue or clear varnish to the front sides to make the paper more durable.
