There are people who simply don't have a knack for plants. They give too much or too little water, let the plants rot or dry out and are completely helpless in the face of plant diseases. Sooner or later, they resort to plastic plants just to have something green in their home.

If you are such a "plant killer", you just need the right kind of plant, namely one that is hardy and adaptable, has few demands and is resistant even in extreme conditions. There are low-maintenance plants that nevertheless die quite easily and those that are more resistant.
In addition to all naturally sensitive plants, someone with a "black thumb" should avoid so-called low-maintenance plants such as the hemp plant, also known as the bayonet plant, peace lily or Dieffenbachia.

Instead, succulents such as aloe and money tree (penny tree) and epiphytes are recommended. Succulents are water-storing, cactus-like plants. As they hold water in their leaves, they are thick and fleshy. Succulents can adapt to almost all soil and climatic conditions.

An aloe plant is one of the hardiest plants that grows like a weed by the roadside in tropical and subtropical areas. An aloe plant can grow and thrive very quickly even in poor conditions and requires a large pot.

The money tree originates from South Africa and is very hardy, but requires well-drained soil. It loses its leaves when overwatered.
The advantage of epiphytes is that they do not need soil, as they grow on other plants or objects and get their nutrients from the air. Epiphytes get moisture from the air, so they need to be sprayed occasionally.
