Strawberries, raspberries and other types of berries, as well as grapes, quickly become mouldy in the fridge if they are stored in a bowl. The fruit draws in juice that cannot escape and no air can get to it, causing it to rot more quickly.
Berries and grapes stay fresh for much longer if you place them in an uncovered sieve in the fridge. The holes allow air to reach the fruit from below and from the sides and circulate between the berries. Place a saucer under the sieve to collect the juice.
