Car care products can be very expensive. Car paintwork needs to be cared for and pampered just as much as the interior of the vehicle. So there is a selection of polishes, waxes and cockpit sprays that all claim to be necessary for cleaning the car properly. Read the following tips for cleaning your car inside and out without expensive care products.

 

Whilst most car sponges, leather cloths, cockpit sprays and special cleaners can be replaced by conventional products, it makes sense to use a car wax after a rough wash of the paintwork. But this way you only need a special agent for a clean car.

1. the simple domestic hoover vacuums out a lot of dirt without any time limit. The right attachments are important for using the hoover. The nozzle gets into many crevices between the seats. A brush attachment cleans upholstery and floors. A sledge hoover is much more practical for vacuuming the car, but with a longer hose another hoover model can also be used.
A piece of garden hose is suitable as a particularly small nozzle. Cut off about 20cm of hose and hold one end between thumb and forefinger in front of the opening of the hoover. Use your hand to bridge the gap between the opening and the hose and cover it. The hose is thin and flexible and therefore fits into many small crevices where no hoover can otherwise reach.

2. wet wipes are just as effective for cleaning the dashboard as a cockpit spray. The moisture absorbs the finest dust from the plastic pores and leaves behind an antistatic layer.

3 For more precise cleaning in the interior, a soft brush is suitable for brushing in small grooves.

4 The car paintwork can be washed with simple lukewarm water. A soft mop or the soft end of a household broom is particularly suitable. This can be used to loosen stuck-on dirt, which is then rinsed off thoroughly with water. Rub over the entire surface of the vehicle with the mop or broom brush.

4. an old sock as a glove is ideal for rubbing a polish or car wax into the paintwork.

5 The windscreen can be excellently cleaned with vinegar essence. Rub the vinegar onto the windscreen and windscreen wipers with a damp cloth and rinse thoroughly with water.

6. an all-purpose lubricating oil (WD 40) removes surface dirt and light rust stains from the licence plate. The oil also prevents further rusting.

7. spray odour eliminator into the openings of the fan so that the air is refreshed from the inside and the dusty smell disappears. After spraying, allow the fan to blow for 10 minutes.

8 Battery acid that has accumulated on the battery can be removed using baking soda. Sprinkle baking soda and water on the acid deposits and leave to work for about an hour. Then wipe off with a damp sponge. Caution: Wear gloves when doing this!
