Ginger has proven to be helpful against the symptoms of dizziness as a remedy for general dizziness and travel sickness. The active ingredients in the ginger root alleviate the accompanying symptoms and reduce the time it takes to recover after the onset of symptoms. One gram of dried ginger root powder is recommended as an effective dose for dizziness.

Gingko (gingko biloba) is another natural medicine for dizziness. If you take 120mg of gingko extract twice a day, dizzy spells occur less frequently.

Dizziness in general can be caused by malnutrition. Accordingly, a healthy diet with sufficient vitamins and minerals counteracts the symptoms. Fresh fruit and vegetables, dairy products and wholegrains are important for a balanced diet.

A simple but effective method is movement management. This involves observing your own body movements and postures that result in dizziness and other symptoms. Once you have identified the accompanying movements, you naturally try to avoid them in future. Dizziness most frequently occurs when suddenly standing up from a sitting or lying position. The better you are aware of the body movements that cause dizziness, the better you can reduce it.
