Weather and influence on health

All environmental conditions that make up weather and weather patterns such as light, humidity, temperature, air pressure, wind, air ionisation, air electricity and air pollution affect the human organism. The three factors that affect the body's heat balance and fluid balance, namely temperature, humidity and wind, are the most important factors for human well-being.

The most tolerable weather for humans is the phase of calming down after a change in the weather. The weather change itself is the most intolerable for the body, because it affects blood pressure, stomach and intestines, heart, circulation, bronchial and rheumatic complaints and can trigger headaches.

 

Temperature

The ideal temperature tolerance for the health well-being of the human body is between 28 and 32 degrees unclothed and between 18 and 22 degrees with medium clothing.

The older a person gets, the less tolerant the body is of temperature fluctuations, as the organism's ability to regulate heat decreases.

 

Humidity

The most favourable humidity for well-being is between 50 and 60 % relative humidity. Air that is too dry promotes evaporation and leads to dehydration, while air that is too humid restricts evaporation.

High humidity and extreme temperatures are particularly stressful for the organism. High humidity in combination with high temperature (sultriness) stresses the heart and circulation and results in respiratory problems. High humidity in combination with low temperatures has a bad effect on the bones and is particularly bad for rheumatic diseases.

 

Wind

Air movement in the heat refreshes, but quickly becomes uncomfortable in the cold. The more wind speed, the more heat the body loses, which cannot be replaced quickly enough. At the beginning of a light breeze, one usually feels pleasantly stimulated; if the wind lasts longer or the wind speed increases, this leads to fatigue of the body.
