It is played with 2 packs of cards, from 9 to Ace. Doppelkopf is for 4-8 players. The game gets its name from the fact that every card appears twice due to the 2 packs of cards.
The suit rank sequence is clubs, spades, hearts, diamonds.
The value sequence of the 8 cards:
As = 11
Ten = 10
King = 4
Queen = 3
Jack = 2
9 = 0
Trump cards are all queens in suit rank order, all jacks in suit rank order and all other diamonds in value order.
The 24 trump cards are matched by 24 suit cards. A played card must be played with the same suit or, if you do not have this suit, it must be overtricked. Trump cards must be played with trumps or trumped. If two identical cards are played, the card played first takes precedence.
Billing
Everyone pays a previously agreed amount before the game. If the party with the queens of clubs has scored more than 120 points with their tricks and thus won the game, all players in this party receive an agreed winning amount.
If the other party has scored less than 30 points, they are the "winner", i.e. the winners are paid double the winning amount.
If the other party has no points at all, it is "black", i.e. the winning amount is paid out three times.
If the player has won without the queens of clubs, the winnings are always doubled. The opponent is already "black" if only two tricks have been taken with the queens of clubs.
A winning solo game is not paid out from the cash box, but directly from the other players. In the case of "Schneider" or "schwarz", double the amount is paid out.
