What should you have with you for a relaxing hike?

Hiking boots or trekking shoes with non-slip tread soles are important. The shoes must fit comfortably and be ankle-high to prevent the foot from twisting. New shoes must be broken in beforehand to avoid blisters.

You should carry a light rain jacket and a change of clothes in your rucksack in case you get wet.

You should take a first aid kit with you to treat minor wounds and injuries. The first aid kit includes blister plasters, adhesive plasters, quick wound dressings, sterile wound dressings, an elastic bandage and a disinfectant (e.g. Biotine)

Healthy foods are important as provisions when travelling so that the body can quickly recharge its batteries. Wholemeal bread with cheese or ham, cucumber and tomatoes is best. Fresh fruit or dried fruit, nuts or energy bars are also suitable. A thermos flask with hot broth provides energy and hydration.

Hikers should definitely take enough to drink with them, about 1 1/2 to 2 litres of liquid per person. It's best to take water or juice spritzer or tea in an aluminium bottle.

A mobile phone should also be in your bag so that you can call for help in an emergency.

A good hiking map (at least 1:25000) for the planned route is a must, and a compass may also be useful in wooded areas.

To find the right hiking route, you should plan the hike in advance by choosing the right route on the hiking map. It's a good idea to choose a circular route with small highlights and good views so that it doesn't get boring.
