Three-dimensional letters are very popular in design. 3D letters can be particularly effective in computer design. The third dimension gives the letters depth, structure and life through shading and physicality. Drawing three-dimensional letters on paper is actually quite easy if you know how. Simply draw a few simple letters on the paper with a pencil. Block letters are the easiest, but the 3D effect can also be achieved with written words. It is easier if the letters are drawn as large, clear and precise as possible.

Now make a dot at the top edge of the paper a little further away. This point is not part of the three-dimensional drawing, but serves to orientate the perspective. This is the vanishing point.

Using a pencil and ruler, draw wafer-thin lines from each corner of the letters to this point. For curved letters, make a series of small dots on the curve and connect them to the vanishing point. For an 'S', for example, draw lines from various points where the S curve changes direction, as well as from the leftmost and rightmost curve.

Behind the original letters, paint shapes similar to the letters within the boundaries defined by the vanishing lines. Carefully erase the thin lines so that only the letters and their spatial shadows remain.

You can colour in the letters with a coloured pen. The spatial shadow is given a darker shade of colour than the letter. This emphasises the three-dimensional effect and all possible remnants of the alignment lines disappear.

At the beginning, you should start with block-like letters. Later you can add more curves, but the more curvy the letters are, the more difficult they are.
