Schoolchildren need free time

Schoolchildren

Although school-age children are particularly capable of learning, they absolutely need enough time for themselves. Ambitious parents tend to pack their children's afternoons with learning programmes, which in the long run overload the child's body and cause stress.

Children need free time and opportunities to exercise. Their time off school should not be completely scheduled. It is equally important for their development that they have time in which they can simply do what they want. This is the precious time when they can play and let their own imagination run wild.

Don't just book learning programmes for the children; sport is also useful. They learn body coordination, social interaction and team spirit through sport and have fun through exercise. Sport also helps to reduce stress, which is already present at primary school age.

If a child gets too little free time, it suffers from constant sensory overload and becomes restless, rushed, depressed, exhausted and suffers from concentration problems. A child suffering from stress needs relaxation. Relaxation can be found in the form of pure playtime, sport and relaxation exercises. Watching a little television is also a good way to relax. Of course, you should not overdo it.
The child should be given a vitamin-rich diet and taken to playgrounds frequently where they can play in the fresh air. Depending on their age, children should be allowed to play without restriction, i.e. they should only be observed from a distance to ensure that they do not harm themselves or others, but should not interfere.
