A boat for children that floats on ponds or in streams can be made quite easily and cheaply yourself.
For a homemade sailing ship, you need an empty milk carton, a cork, a wooden stick, coloured paper and glue.
Make the ship's belly out of the milk carton by cutting out one side and gluing the open flap together. Stick the wooden stick into the cork and glue the cork into the ship's belly. The coloured paper becomes the sail by sticking the wooden stick through the paper.
