Unfortunately, wrinkles are part and parcel of ageing, and the thin skin around the eyes is usually the first to show signs of wrinkling. There are special eye creams that moisturise the skin around the eyes and thus slow down the formation of wrinkles. However, these creams are usually not cheap. You can make your own eye cream with a few simple home remedies. Here are three recipes for eye creams.
1. ingredients for cocoa butter eye cream
Vaseline
Cocoa butter
Coconut oil
Heat two tablespoons each of Vaseline, cocoa butter and coconut oil for about 15 seconds and mix well. Pour the mixture into a container and leave to cool. Spread the cream around the eyes overnight and leave to work.
2. ingredients for cucumber eye cream
Aloe vera gel
Cucumber
Starch flour
Mix together a tablespoon of aloe vera gel, a teaspoon of cucumber juice and 1/4 teaspoon of cornflour and heat in the microwave until it boils (about 1 minute). Then stir in a tablespoon of witch hazel water and allow the mixture to cool to form a gel-like substance. Rub the gel onto the eye area once or twice a day.
3. ingredients for eye oil
Jojoba oil
chamomile essential oil
essential rose oil
Mix about 30ml jojoba oil with 5 drops each of chamomile oil and rose oil and store in a container. Apply a drop of the oil to the lower eye area with your finger. Do not apply the oil directly to the eyelids.
Tip: Pour homemade eye creams into a pretty little tin and give them to friends as a gift.
